before going to la la land

Evidently am not getting sleep. Actually it the usual time for me...tomorrow morning is when i start cursing myself for not getting to bed early. Again another routine.

First things first. You guys get your hands on the video clips of comedy central's Mitch Hedburg. You can download it from the net. I got mine form Ares. He's real funny. And an drug addict. Infact he died of an OD i think. But still don't let that prejudice you, check him out and let me know what you guys think.

I don't really don't know what else to say, still waiting for that inspired moment (a good enough excuse?). In case you think this is one of them, it ain't. The previous blog was written sometime back, just posted it today. But i think this blog can go places. Yes imran i know the last pilot didn't take off, but i can feel this one going the whole nine yards.

Lanky stud.... we're still waiting.

The only thing though is that i wish they'd made the whole blog sites a little more user friendly, with easy to use features and interface. I really find this complicated.

the rest has been pretty much the same really. Work got really damp for the past few days coz of the rains, feel the saddest for my shoes. Second last pair. But all in all, it's good. Looking forward to get back to siliguri in a month's time. Need the break.

you guys do't have to read all this... i'm just trying to end this, and failing miserably.
Ok bye

prashant

p.s still aint; sleepy. Come onlin orkut ppl.

Bear with me

I cringe at the thought of them, as I am sure so many of you. After all, it’s for the masses. Everyday, we try and avoid the cliché. At work, in the way we appear with our friends, even the way we write and talk.

So caught up are in this zealousness to get out of the formula, so to speak, we generally lose the plot. What we end up with many a time, is a mess that is unrecognizable by us or by anyone else. A series of incoherent ideas. Good execution, people and acting yet lacking a soul. Hollow in every sense of the word.

No. The cliché isn’t dead. For the fundament basing of all cliché lies in human emotions. And that can never be redundant. No matter how many times we see two lovers miss each other, or a son dying on a mother’s lap, it works. The cliché works.

The thing to note however is that clichés are time bound. Each generation come up with contemporary ones. Taking the case of cinema, film makers today are vouching not to repeat the formula. But what are they doing if not discarding the old clichés for some new ones. We maybe saying goodbye to the scenes and images that had the power to bring to halt an attack, start a revolution, sell countless packets of tissue. But I say we are doing so at our own risk.

For the future holds no special answers. And evolution is a slow process. For in the matters of the heart, the cliché never fails to deliver.

The Diamond...

Syd Barrett, the brilliant, erratic catalyst for Floyd's early success, 'died peacefully at home' last Friday at 60, according to his brother. The musician had been in ill health for years, battling type 2 diabetes, as well as stomach ulcers.
